Local Company Named Finalist fir Tampa Bay Tech Awards Congratulations to Sarasota's xG Technology, Inc. who just became a finalist in the Tampa Bay Technology Forum Industry Achievement Awards in the Emerging Technology Company of the Year category. As a finalist, they will be recognized at an exciting black-tie awards gala on November 12th at the A La Carte Event Pavilion in Tampa.
Recovery Zone Bonds The Federal Economic Recovery Program has made nearly $28 million in lower cost, tax-exempt financing available for businesses within Sarasota County to stimulate economic development. The bonds will be issued to benefit businesses directly and are earmarked specifically for purchase, construction or renovation of a facility and for purchase of new equipment. Applicants must request a minimum of $250,000 in financing. The bonds cannot be used for day-to-day operations or hiring new employees. Restrictions also include purchase of land, improvements to golf courses and country clubs, residential rental properties and gambling facilities. [more]
