EDC Breakfast to feature Enterprise Florida market analyst, international commerce outlook
The EDC will hold a breakfast exploring the role of international commerce in Florida’s economic recovery at 7:45 a.m., Dec. 9 at the Holiday Inn Lakewood Ranch, 6231 Lake Osprey Dr., Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
The event will feature a presentation by Z. Joe Kulenovic, senior director of strategic and market analysis at Enterprise Florida –the state’s public-private economic development partnership. Kulenovic will provide an overview of Florida’s recent economic performance and a near-term outlook focused on the state’s international commerce as a key driver of economic recovery.
The cost is $20 for EDC investors, $30 for non-investors. Registration is available online or by calling 309-1200 ext. 103.
Florida-China Business Summit Dec. 2 The Florida-China Association and the China Council for the Promotion of Trade will present the Second Annual Florida-China Business Summit on Dec. 2, 2:00 - 7:00 p.m., at the Marriott Doral Golf Resort & Spa, 4400 NW 87TH Ave, Doral, Fla. The event includes presentations and optional business meetings with Chinese business leaders from various industry sectors. Information and registration are available online.

Encourage your Employees to Apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit with Help from the United Way The United Way of Sarasota County's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is aimed at increasing the number of residents applying for and receiving Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) and Child Tax Credits (CTC). According to United Way, doing so will increase the amount of disposable income to hard-working people; decrease usage of high cost tax services and predatory financial products and services and link EITC recipients with other economic self-sufficiency programs.
