We've gone weekly! In an effort to reduce the individual event announcements you receive from the EDC and provide you with the most up-to-date information about our initiatives and activities, the EDConnection will be sent to you every Thursday. If you have topics or information you'd like to see included in our publication, please let us know. EDC Investors may submit news to the EDConnection.

One County, One Network Campaign Urges Use of Local Vendors, Services

The EDC soon will launch a campaign to encourage area business leaders and government officials to buy products and services locally.  The awareness campaign, part of the EDC’s ongoing work to create a sustainable local economy, will include advertising, Web resources and outreach.

Built on a theme of “Sarasota County One:  We’re in Business Together,” the program’s concept is simple, said EDC President / CEO Kathy Baylis.  “When local business supports local business, everyone wins. “

The first ad will appear on August 25 in the Herald-Tribune, which donated space for the effort. Also providing space are Sarasota Magazine and Biz 941.
