Ringling to Host the "Cultural Impact of the Arts" Ringling College of Art and Design will host a presentation by Philip Heylen, Vice Mayor and Alderman of Culture and Tourism of the City of Antwerp, who will speak about the impact of art and culture on the economy. The event will be held Monday, November 2, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Willis Smith Gallery, New Academic Center Building 31. According to Ringling, Antwerp serves as a model city and can be compared with Sarasota in many ways. Philip Heylen has been instrumental in the exchanges between the Ringling College of Art and Design and Saint Lucas Art School in Antwerp as well as funding residencies in Antwerp and bringing artists to The Hermitage Art Retreat.
