Trends and Market Opportunities for Sarasota County The Economic Development Corporation is working in conjunction with partners to implement the strategies outlined in the Five-Year Economic Development Strategic Plan for Sarasota County.
Six economic goals are identified in the plan and the EDC is tracking trends in three "platforms" or market opportunity areas. Click on the links below to see the local, national and global trends associated with these platforms:
EDC Breakfast to Feature Panel of Regional Economic Development Officials The EDC will hold a breakfast, “Southwest Florida: A Brighter Place,” at 7:45 a.m., Nov. 10 at the Heron Creek Golf and Country Club, 5301 Heron Creek Blvd., North Port. Attendees will learn how Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, Glades and Collier counties are working together with other regional partners to market the assets of Southwest Florida and attract businesses to the area. The cost of the event, will includes a panel discussion with the president's of the economic development organizations in the region, is $20 for EDC investors, $30 for non-investors.
