Raising capital for a startup or small business is without question one of the most challenging and mysterious aspects of growing a business. SNN Local News 6, the Herald-Tribune and Sarasota County to Host Economic Recovery Forum
A community forum provided by SNN Local News 6, the Herald-Tribune and Sarasota County will explore economic strategies for Sarasota County to recover from the recession. The forum, called “From Recession to Recovery,” will be broadcast at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, on Sarasota County Access TV, which is carried on Comcast 19 and Verizon 32. The forum also will be streamed on the county’s Web site at www.scgov.net.

Tech Fest Feb. 25. Free to Those Registering Early
Suncoast Technology, Forum, Southwest Florida's technology advocacy group for companies creating and developing technology solutions in Sarasota and Manatee counties, announces the Tech Fest Event. Tech Fest will take place on Thursday, February 25, 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Polo Grill, 10670 Boardwalk Loop, Lakewood Ranch.
Tech Fest is an opportunity for area executives, IT professionals and developers to hear from IT industry experts on various ways to integrate technology solutions as important levers in operational effectiveness. The event's featured keynote speaker is Jack Braman, Eastern US Vice President of Microsoft. Additional speakers include Ricardo Olivares, a Business & Technology Strategy Executive and MIT Sloan Alumni and Brian Zaas, a Business Development Executive with 22 years of experience in technology implementation.
